Anna Silk was born in Fredericton as the daughter of Peter Silk, an academic, and Ilkay Silk, who is an actress director, producer, educator, playwright and director of drama of Drama at St. Thomas University. Her father comes from Britain as does her mother, who is a "Turkish English-Cypriot expat." Anna's early memories involve attending rehearsals for plays and observing her mother at her job. She appeared in many commercials in her early years. In November 1999, Anna moved to Toronto to advance her acting career. She ended up moving into Los Angeles, California, during the decade that followed. Seth Cooperman was introduced to Anna in Los Angeles at an acting training workshop held in 2007. They got engaged in 2009. They were married at a civil wedding ceremony in December and renewed their vows in a Jewish wedding ceremony held in Fredericton in April of 2011 in the wake of Anna's conversion into Judaism. Bo's same-sex relationship and Lauren (played by Zoie Palmer) was featured in the list of CNN's all-time favorite Television Couples and was named the top Television Couple in 2013 by E! Entertainment Television. The success of the show led to Anna growing a substantial followers on social media.
